What Does Google Say About CTR?

Google itself has stated the importance of CTR on multiple occasions.

Google-logo Patent

“[…] user reactions to particular search results or search result lists may be gauged, so that results on which users often click will receive a higher ranking.”

Google-logo Engineer

“[…] using click and visit data to rank results is a very reasonable and logical thing to do, and ignoring the data would have been silly. [...] It's pretty clear that any reasonable search engine would use click data on their own results to feed back into ranking to improve the quality of search results. Infrequently clicked results should drop toward the bottom because they're less relevant, and frequently clicked results bubble toward the top.”

Google-logo Lawsuit

“In addition, click data (the website links on which a user actually clicks) is important for evaluating the quality of the search results page. As Google’s former chief of search quality Udi Manber testified:

The ranking itself is affected by the click data. If we discover that, for a particular query, hypothetically, 80 percent of people click on Result No. 2 and only 10 percent click on Result No. 1, after a while we figure out, well, probably Result 2 is the one people want. So we’ll switch it.

Testimony from Sergey Brin and Eric Schmidt confirms that click data is important for many purposes, including, most importantly, providing “feedback” on whether Google’s search algorithms are offering its users high quality results.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Unfortunately there are no guarantees in SEO, unless you happen to own Google. There are innumerable factors that can affect search engine rankings. And, realistically, most sites should focus their efforts on traditional SEO before even thinking about using non-traditional techniques like SerpClix.

That said, there is a lot of evidence that CTR manipulation can be effective

While backlinks and content remain the dominant factor in SEO, over the past few years Google seems to have been moving towards user feedback signals like engagement, retention and bounce rates.

We believe Google will continue to move away from external signals like backlinks and move more towards user experience signals. This seems to have already been done with YouTube: videos used to be ranked based on thumbs up, view count and comments. Now it's all about user experience. If someone leaves the video instantly, it ranks lower. If they watch the full view, it ranks higher. We believe the same factors are being applied in the SERPs (search engine results pages).

All SEO tools can involve an element of risk. Some techniques are certainly more risky than others. SerpClix employs real human clickers, so we think using our service to buy SEO traffic is far less risky than trying to use automated or robotic click methods. But, like all SEO strategies, there is an element of risk because Google’s algorithm is unknown and subject to change at any time. That said, it’s unlikely that using SerpClix would result in any kind of penalty, otherwise it would be easy to penalize competitors’ websites.

We are the world’s first and only crowd-sourced searching platform where website owners and marketers can buy targeted website traffic to boost SEO rankings. We pay our pool of more than 100,000 clickers to search your keywords and visit your website, driving real organic search traffic and boosting your SERP click-through rate (CTR).

Our clickers install a browser extension which allows us to track their behavior and verify that they are completing your click orders.

Users search for your keyword phrase on Google, as any natural searcher would. Then they scroll down and navigate the search results pages until they find your site. They will click on your URL to visit your site. Once on your site, they will scroll up and down and remain on the page for approximately 60 seconds. If you want you can specify a second internal page for them to visit on your site. At no point will they ever click the back button. When they are finished they will exit the tab, without returning to Google.

A few years ago, Moz's Rand Fishkin ran a CTR case study which moved his site from #7 to #1 in less than 3 hours by sending clicks to his organic search results. These were real people, making real clicks. This was the first real indication that click through rate (CTR) was a factor that could heavily move organic results in the SERPs.

Here are some other published articles to consider:

Aside from buying website traffic there are a number of other things you can do on your own to increase your organic CTR and improve your SEO. Optimizing your Title and meta tags. Optimizing your on-page content to increase engagement. Optimizing your site structure, to ensure each page is highly matched to target specific (and, ideally, long-tail) keywords. And, of course, a million other things you can do from an SEO-perspective that are beyond the scope of these FAQs.

Our competitors use bots and free website traffic generators to simulate Google searches and clicks.

SerpClix is the only service that sends real human visitors to search your keywords and visit your website. We have a pool of over 100,000 clickers who we pay individually to complete your click orders. There is no other service that offers this amazing and complex crowd-sourced system.

SerpClix uses real human clickers because fake automated or robotic clicks DO NOT WORK. Public proxies are always detectable by Google. Private proxies do not have enough of a random IP address range. PhantomJS and other popular headless browsers leave footprints that are very difficult to cover.

Google is the leading expert in the world at detecting robotic traffic. Their entire advertising business depends on being able to tell human visitors apart from bots.

In fact, Google manages the most popular service for preventing robotic traffic, reCAPTCHA:

reCAPTCHA protects your website from fraud and abuse.

If you've ever encountered one of the little "I'm not a robot" check boxes you've experienced Google's anti-robot platform. And the newer versions of reCAPTCHA work behind the scenes and don't even need the checkbox to know whether you are a robot or not.

Unfortunately real humans are more expensive than robots, and SerpClix is more expensive than fake bot traffic. But — as with so many things — you get what you pay for!

Please don't throw your money away or, worse, get your site penalized by buying fake bot traffic from other services. Let SerpClix's army of real human clickers drive targeted traffic to your website, increase your organic CTR, and boost your SEO rankings.

Yes, you can create as many orders as you want using the credits that you purchase. You can create orders for as many different URLs as you want, and you can target as many keyword phrases as you want on each order.

Google Analytics and other analytics programs count a bounce as any single-page session. If our clickers visit your site, stay on one page only, and then leave, that is counted as a bounce.

The good news is you can add a second URL to your order (at no extra cost). Our clickers will visit the second URL after the timer finishes for the first URL, and Google Analytics will no longer consider this visit as a bounce.

That said, it's important to know that bounce rate is *not* an SEO ranking factor. See this article for more. (Summary of the article: Google Search does not use Google Analytics data, and does not even know if a bounce has occurred. Your site's bounce rate has no impact on your SEO rankings.)

"Engagement", however, is a factor. If our clicker clicked on your result, then immediately clicked Back to the SERPs, this would not help, as Google Search would register this as low-engagement. But that is not what happens. Instead, the clicker stays on your site for a period of at least 1-2 minutes. Then when the time is complete, the browser tab automatically closes — the clicker NEVER clicks the 'BACK' button. THEN, they are required to wait another 30-60 seconds before beginning their next click order, which is done in a new browser tab. Google Search may register that the same visitor has returned, but the visitor will be using a new tab and at least 90-120 seconds will have elapsed since the last search. Thus, your click through rate has been increased, and the engagement signal remains strong, despite what Google Analytics may be showing.

SerpClix has more than 100,00 clickers located in every country of the world and you have the option to limit your click orders to only real human clickers who are physically located in your country.

We do not allow our clickers to use proxies or VPNs, so when you buy website traffic from a specific country you know that the clicks really are from real clickers who are actually located in that country.

We also support every language, including:

  • Español
  • Deutsch
  • 中文
  • 普通话, 汉语
  • हिन्दी
  • لعربية

And many more!

Yes, many of customers are focused on local and hyperlocal search traffic.

As a starting point, you can limit the pool of clickers to only those who are physically located in your country.

You can also use the location as part of the keyword phrase that our clickers will search, for example: "dry cleaner chicago illinois".

And we also have an order type specifically focused on Google Maps / Google My Business (GMB) which can help to improve your ranking for targeted local searches.

Yes, we have specific order types for all of the following:

  • Google Search
  • Google Maps / Google My Business (GMB)
  • Google Images
  • Google Video
  • Google News
  • Bing Search
  • YouTube

You can also create Direct Traffic orders to drive traffic directly to your website without an initial search.

Yes, we employ a number of proprietary methods to ensure that all of our clickers are real humans with real, high-quality IP addresses - no robots, VPNs or proxies are ever allowed. Many people are searching for organic traffic bots or Google search bots, but not only does this not work, it can backfire and cause harm. SerpClix is not a bot, but a crowdsourced pool of real human clickers who we micro pay.
